Mark Twain House Counted Cross Stitch Kit
$14.50
The Mark Twain House, designed by Edward Tuckerman Potter and occupied by the Clemens family in 1874, reflects the grand lifestyle of its famous owner. It is classified as "Picturesque." A bold pattern of black and vermillion paint embellishes the brick surface. The 19-room house in which the Clemens family lived until 1891 welcomed many a guest. A fitting inscription, "The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it," appears over the library fireplace. Twain wrote seven major works at the Hartford house, including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
